SUMMARY: John’s Gospel is written so that those who read it may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah. The first 12 chapters relate a series of miracles (called “signs”) that make such faith possible. Jesus turns water to wine, heals the sick, feeds the hungry, and raises the dead so that honest seekers have enough evidence to make it intellectually plausible to believe. But there’s more! John wants to lead us to faith in Christ so that we might have life: abundant life, victorious life, eternal life. If you want more out of life than mere biological existence, John’s Gospel promises that you can experience abundant living by putting your faith in Jesus Christ. Got Life?
